Couloir West Aig. du Tour Noir

Back in Chamonix and after 1 week of pisteskiing and some other skitouring it was time to try something new. Last year in december i was looking at this line, later that season i was there to check it out if it was possible to ski but other more interesting lines was in better conditions that i rather would go for so it never happend. This route was first climbed back in the 1890s and i have never heard anyone skied it before so it would be a possible first descent to try. Two days earlier Vivian Bruchez, Tristan Knoertzer and Ben Tibbets had skied a new line  "Fou de Fouly" with soft snow and this line had almost same aspect so i asked Tom Grant if he wanted to give it a try.

The line first climbed back in the 1890s.
We started from the first lift in Grand Montets and skinned up col du toir noir.

Me climbing the the "Rideu" of this line.

Tom skiing the ramp we had to do 60m rappel to reach the ramp.

We did dryskiing instead of make Another rappel

Me on the lower part of the line.

Traversing to find a good anchor for the last rappel. We did 1x40m rappel in the exit.
Intense light on Aiguille de Argentiere.

Skiing back in the dark and a long walk back to our car. We was by the car at 19.
THE END.

Karlstad Multisport, Racereport (Utmaningen)

It was that time of the year again to do the yearly competition in Multisport. Multisport is a sport that you do several sports in one competition, standard is to always have running, bikeing and canoeing. Normaly you do Multisport for several days but this is sprint so its only 4h of really good exercise :)
This year it was rogaining as competition style.

Rogaining is a long distance navigation sport where you compete in teams of 2-5 persons.
In a fixed amount of time (originally 24 hours) the teams shall visit as many controls as possible. The controls have different score points depending on distance, terrain roughness and navigation difficulty.
The team that collects the highest score wins. If more than one team have the same score, the team with the shortest time wins. If a team exceeds the maximum time, the score will be reduced.
This type of competition suites well to all kind of people because you can choose your level of ambition. An important part of the competiotion is to plan your route optimally according to your own capacity.
The start and finish point is same.

This time we was in good shape, Anders had done some Swimrun race with good results earlier this summer and i have most been training uphill intervalls. We knew if we did everything right it would go a long way.

At the start.

Me and Anders making a plan for the race.

One part of the race was to transport you self on madrass to collect points. We choosed a different variation were one of us running at the side instead of both was on the madrass.

Me on the madrass.

Team Icebreaker in action. Team Icebreaker is the new name on our team me and Anders have.

In the start after this we decided to only be one on the madrass.

For me Bikeing part is the most fun.

In the Goal it was just in time with 3 min margins we could reach the goal. Thank you Anders!

At the Podium we ended up on second place. It has been a goal for us to be on the podium in this race.
